2 Palestinian policemen killed and several wounded in two explosions in the Gaza Strip – Ministry

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Two policemen were killed and two others were wounded in two blasts near the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the Interior Ministry said.

The Interior Ministry said that the first explosion occurred near a police checkpoint at the junction of the border south of Gaza City, killing two policemen, adding that the security services are examining the nature of the incident.

For its part, the Ministry of Health that the two dead men, each 32-year-old, noting that the explosion also wounded three people were wounded differently, two young men and a woman.

Shortly afterwards, the Interior Ministry said several people were wounded in a second explosion which it said targeted a police checkpoint in the coastal Rashid Street in Sheikh Ajlin area in western Gaza.

The ministry said a state of alert was issued to all security services and police to follow up developments following the two explosions.

According to local media, the Israeli army denied responsibility for the blast, which killed the two people.

For its part, the Palestinian news agency “Maan” quoted local sources in Gaza that the incident was caused by a motorcycle, killing two people on the spot.
