5 million people left Wuhan

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — More than 5 million people left the Chinese city of Wuhan, which became the epicenter of the coronavirus epidemic. This was stated by Mayor Jow Xianwang.

People left due to holidays in honor of the Chinese New Year, the mayor explained. He specified that about 9 million more residents remained in Wuhan.

Since January 23, the city is actually blocked. The airport, ferry crossings, metro and railroads are temporarily closed, and highways are blocked.

Earlier on January 26, it became known that the number of fatal outcomes of pneumonia caused by coronavirus increased to 57. The number of confirmed cases of the disease was 2027. Prior to this, 2002 cases and 56 deaths were reported.
