UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — The Italian 5-Star Movement, as a result of an internal vote on Tuesday, supported the formation of a coalition government with the previously opposition Democratic Party.
The survey was conducted on the basis of the Russo online platform, 79 thousand participants of the Movement took part in it, which is 23 thousand more than the record vote on the leadership in the Movement of the now retired Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio.
The members of the Movement had to answer the question, do they agree that “so that it launches a government with the Democratic Party under the chairmanship of Giuseppe Conte?”
79.3% of those who took part in the vote answered him positively.
The future of the new coalition depended in many respects on the outcome of the Movement (D5Z) vote: earlier, Giuseppe Conte, who was commissioned by Italian President Sergio Mattarella to form a new government, said he intends to complete this work by Wednesday. In this case, the oath of office of the new government will take place on Thursday.
