UKRAINE (OBSERVATORY) – Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy assessed the issue of permits for the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline by Germany and Finland, European Pravda reports.
“The permit for the construction of the North Stream-2” is a powerful blow to the security of Ukraine at a time when the military is dying at the front, “the parliamentarian said.
The Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline itself called Parubiy a factor of destabilization for the entire region.
“We must achieve freezing and prevent the implementation of this project,” he stressed.
The Nord Stream-2 project involves the construction of two strings with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Pipes lay from the coast of Russia through the Baltic Sea to Germany, next to the current “Nord Stream”.
At the end of March, Germany issued a building permit for the Nord Stream and Finland in April. Nord Stream 2 AG is also awaiting the approval of Russia, Sweden and Denmark in the coming months.
