About 30,000 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in 2019

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem announced on Tuesday that about 30,000 Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in 2019.

“The number of Jewish extremists storming the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Quds Al-Sharif, during 2019, reached 29,610 extremists,” Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, Director General of the Islamic Endowments Department said in a statement seen by Anatolia.

Al-Khatib pointed out that the incursions took place “under the protection of thousands of the occupation police, its special forces and intelligence elements that penetrated the historical and legal status of the mosque.”

He stressed that “all indications and data indicate an escalation in the frequency of violations against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings during this year, through a continuous series of unprecedented abuses, which in themselves constitute a prejudice to the historical and legal status of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque as an Islamic mosque for Muslims alone.”

Al-Khatib warned the Israeli authorities against seeking to devote the issue of Al-Aqsa Mosque “as a platform to achieve political gains and electoral propaganda, to individuals and groups who are unaware of the dangers of these actions in their pursuit and insistence to stir the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world.”

He stressed the Islamic Endowments Department’s insistence on facing all procedures and violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque.
