IRAN (OBSERVATORY) – Adviser to the Supreme Leader of Iran on international issues, Ali Akbar Velayati, noted the need for cooperation between Tehran and Damascus to counter threats from the United States and its allies.
“It is necessary to coordinate Iran and Syria to confront the threats and incitement of war by the Zionist regime, America, their allies and their regional instruments,” the Iranian IRIB television company told Velayati .
The adviser to the supreme leader of Iran also stated about the support of Damascus in the fight against any aggression.
Velayati is in Syria, in particular, on Wednesday he met with the Foreign Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic, Walid Muallem. During this meeting, as the Syrian SANA agency notes, Velayati assured the Syrian minister that Iran will continue to support Damascus in the fight against terrorism.
In addition, according to Iranian media, an adviser to the Iranian supreme leader on Wednesday visited the liberated areas of the suburb of Damascus – Eastern Ghouta.
