Afghan policeman killed in Taliban attack

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — One Afghan security personnel killed and wounded three others on Saturday in a suicide car bomb attack, targeted a military base in Kandahar, south of the country.

A spokesman for the province, Baher Ahmad Ahmadi, in a press statement, that a Taliban detonated the car at the entrance to the base, located in the area “Shah and Kut.

He pointed to the outbreak of clashes between security forces and Taliban militants, after the bombing.

Ahmadi said the attack killed one security officer and wounded three others.

He stressed the continued clashes with the militants in the region, and incurring losses, without mentioning a specific statistics.

Afghanistan has been witnessing for years clashes and acts of violence almost daily between security and the military on the one hand, and the Taliban on the other, resulting in deaths on both sides, as well as air operations carried out by government aircraft and aircraft of the international coalition.
