AFGHANISTAN (OBSERVATORY) – Thirteen members of the Afghan army were killed in an overnight Taliban attack in northern Kunduz province, 1TV reports.

According to TV, the attack targeted an army post in Qarloq area of Dasht-i-Archi district.

Mohammad Radmanish, acting spokesman for Afghan Defense Ministry, confirmed the attack saying it left eight dead or injured.

Jameel Frotan, head of a hospital in the neighbouring province of Takhar, told 1TV that 13 bodies of Afghan army soldiers were admitted in the hospital following the attack. Nine more were wounded, he said.
