UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – At least eight military personnel died in clashes with militants of the radical Taliban movement in the Afghan province of Kunduz, Tolo News reported citing a police statement.
According to the television channel, the clashes took place in the Dashti-Archi area after it was attacked by dozens of Taliban fighters.
“Eight soldiers and six members of the Taliban… were killed, another four Taliban injured,” the television channel quotes an excerpt from a statement by the police. It is noted that the government security forces were able to repel the attack after several hours of collision.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, the television channel said.
