UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — In December, private sector companies in the United States added tens of thousands of jobs, driven by strong employment in the construction, trade, transportation and utilities sectors, according to a special statistic.
Data released by the “ADB” Foundation, on Wednesday, showed that the private sector added 202,000 jobs last December, compared to 124,000 jobs last November.
She noted that the largest portion of employment was among the smaller and medium-sized companies with fewer than 500 employees.
She explained that the contracting companies added 37 thousand jobs, the trade, transport and utilities sector 87 thousand combined jobs, and the health care and social assistance sector 46 thousand new jobs.
On Friday, the government employment report is expected to show an increase of 155,000 jobs with a steady unemployment rate of 3.5 percent.
ADB figures do not include government employment, and often differ from the government’s official report.
ADB is a global company operating in more than 110 countries around the world, providing comprehensive services for human capital management, statistics, solutions and consulting on human resources for more than 650 thousand companies around the world.
