EUROPE (OBSERVATORY) – Antisemitism is still the problem to be fought in Europe given the fact that in some European countries there are places where the wearing of a kippah is a danger for Jews, said Sputnik the president of the Council of Rabbis, Pinchas Goldschmidt.
In an interview with Sputnik on the sidelines of the European Rabbis’ Conference in Riga, Pinchas Goldschmidt , President of the Council of European Rabbis, drew attention to the problem of anti-Semitism on the Old Continent.
“There are indeed places where Jews wearing a kippah are in danger. For example, it is the suburbs of Paris or some places in Brussels. There are places you can visit, on the contrary, without risk,” he said.
According to him, to fight effectively against this problem, all attacks must be recorded and “punished on the spot”.
“But politicians must want to do it. The political will is there, but it must be firm, concrete and effective,” he said.
