Apple warns old iPhones if not updated immediately

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Apple has warned users that some of its very old smart devices will lose GPS functionality with timing errors, dates and problems in some applications.

Some devices, such as the iPhone 5 or iPad 4, and earlier versions will be affected. But only some of these devices can be repaired, by updating them urgently.

Apple explained that it is particularly important to update the old phone software before November 3, to ensure that the GPS, date and time, continue to work properly. If the update is not activated before the specified date, some models may lose GPS.

The problem is linked to a bug in the GPS, which affects GPS-based smart devices with respect to time and date.

The flaw affected a number of other devices on April 6, 2019. But Apple says its devices will be affected only before midnight on November 3.

If users do not update in time, they may not be able to receive software updates over Wi-Fi. Instead, you need to update your device by connecting it to your computer.

Here are the devices that need to update iOS 10.3.4 before November 3:

– Iphone 5.

– iPad (4G) WiFi + Cellular.

To avoid errors you should download the iOS 9.3.6 update on these devices:

– iPhone 4S.

– iPad Mini (1st generation) WiFi + Cellular.

– iPad 2 WiFi + Cellular (CDMA model only).

– iPad (3G) WiFi + Cellular.

If you’re not sure what type of iOS version you’re using, follow these steps:

– Open the Settings app.

– Click the “General” option, and choose “About”.

– Look for the number next to the software version.
