UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – Apple will allow users to download software updates without using Wi-Fi, reports Akket.com.
IPhone owners have repeatedly complained about a restriction that does not allow updating software and software using the mobile Internet. For example, the recently released update of iOS 11.3.1 weighs only 38 MB, but users could not install it without connecting to Wi-Fi. Many considered this restriction obsolete and asked the company to cancel it.
The innovation will affect not only smartphones, but also iPad, having a slot for the SIM-card. It is assumed that the new feature will appear in iOS 12, which Apple will unveil on June 4.
