UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Armenia closes border with Iran due to coronavirus.

The Armenian government intends to block the border with Iran for two weeks due to the spread of a new type of coronavirus in this country. On Sunday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote about this on Facebook .

“Dear compatriots, the government will decide to block the border with Iran for two weeks. Air traffic between our countries and the entry of people through the Meghri checkpoint (located on the border with Iran – approx.) will be suspended,” the head of the Armenian cabinet said.

Pashinyan also noted that on Monday morning there will be a meeting of the commission to prevent the spread of coronavirus, which will discuss further actions. “I want to emphasize that there is no reason to spread panic,” he added.
