NIGERIA (OBSERVATORY) – At least five civilians were killed on Sunday as a result of an armed attack by militants on the Kpinche community in Kogi in central Nigeria. This was reported by the Nigerian newspaper Daily Post.
“As a result of the attack, five civilians were killed,” said the representative of the provincial police William Aya. “Police and army units came to the scene of the incident, the militants opened fire on the security forces, but were thrown back, losing six people,” he added. “The situation in the area of the incident has now stabilized.”
As a spokesman for the Xinhua law enforcement agency noted , five homes, a large number of vehicles and other property of local residents were burned during the attack.
