Barnier: The EU is waiting for “realistic and practical” proposals from Britain

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — The European Union’s negotiator on Britain’s exit from the bloc said on Friday he was ready to consider “realistic” proposals from Britain about its withdrawal from the bloc.

But he reiterated the view that the agreement reached was the best possible arrangement.

“We are ready to analyze British proposals that are realistic, pragmatic and consistent with our principles,” he said in a tweet after meeting Dutch Prime Minister Mark Roth. The EU wants an orderly withdrawal, but it is also ready for any outcome.”
