Britain is preparing for cyberwar against Russia

UNITED KINGDOM (OBSERVATORY) –┬áBritain raises the hypothesis of a Russian cyberattack against British infrastructure. It is on the basis of these speculations that London says it is preparing to launch retaliation.

The Sunday Times has reported that the British secret service is preparing to face the hackers who are allegedly supported by Russia by Russia and who are planning to publish confidential information about politicians and high-ranking British officials in order to to take revenge on Great Britain for the Skripal case.

Britain would consider launching a cyberattack against Russia in retaliation if Russia targeted British infrastructure, the Sunday Times reported , citing anonymous British security sources.

Relations between Britain and Russia are at a historically low level, after the UK has accused Russia of involvement in the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter March 4, in Salisbury, southwest London. It has also led to massive expulsions of Russian diplomats from EU member states.

Russia has regularly denied any involvement. Last Thursday, one of the British intelligence chiefs claimed that his intelligence service would continue to unveil Russia’s cyberattacks.

Yesterday, Moscow condemned the strikes against Syria by the Western powers, to which Britain participated.
