British House of Lords voted in favor of giving parliament the power to stop or delay Britain’s exit from the EU

UNITED KINGDOM (OBSERVATORY) –┬áThe House of Lords voted in favor of giving parliament the power to stop or delay Britain’s exit from the European Union.

The House of Lords is the upper chamber of the British Parliament and the 335 voted in favor of an amendment that could allow parliament to return Britain to the negotiating table in Brussels or even postpone Britain’s exit.

The British government opposes the amendment, which could be canceled by the lower chamber of parliament where the British prime minister enjoys a simple majority.
