Canada recorded first death from coronavirus

US, WASHINGTON (NEWS OBSERVATORY) — The first death from a disease caused by a new type of coronavirus has been reported in Canada.

This was announced on Monday by representatives of the Ministry of Health of the province of British Columbia, where the fatal outcome, Bonnie Henry, was recorded.

“Unfortunately, in British Columbia, the first death [of a person infected with a coronavirus] was recorded,” she said during a speech broadcast by national television channels.

According to her, we are talking about a man over 80 who lived in North Vancouver in a nursing home. He died late on Sunday.

The representative of the Ministry of Health added that two more residents of the nursing home revealed the presence of coronavirus and that all residents and staff of the institution are currently undergoing relevant tests.

One of the nursing home employees was first infected with a dangerous virus, it is in quarantine.

Henry also reported that the total number of coronavirus infected in British Columbia is now 32 people. In the last two cases, we are talking about a woman who recently visited Iran, and a man who came from Italy.
