UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — The US move to impose sanctions on the bank for the second time on fresh charges shows Washington’s failure to find new ways to pressure Tehran, the central bank governor was quoted as saying on Friday.
Earlier on Friday, the United States imposed a new set of sanctions on Iran, including the central bank and a development fund, following the attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities a few days ago that Washington and Riyadh blamed on the Islamic Republic.
“The return of the US government to the boycott of the central bank shows they have found nothing in the search for new ways to pressure Iran,” said Abdel Nasser Hemmati, governor of the US blacklist.
