Clashes between peasants and Bedouins in Nigeria leave thousands dead

NIGERIA (OBSERVATORY) –┬áHuman rights groups in Nigeria say 2,000 people have died in recent clashes between peasants and Bedouins.

The clashes have led to the displacement of thousands of people from their homes as a result of the violence that hit northern central Nigeria.

It was reported that chaos and looting were taking place in the area as a result of the absence of security forces.

Nigerian authorities have deployed security forces in some of the worst-hit areas, but violence continues in isolated villages.
