Coronavirus detected in six more Americans

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — A new type of coronavirus was diagnosed in six more Americans who were evacuated from the Diamond Princess cruise ship in the United States , the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said.

Thus, a total of 59 cases of coronavirus were registered in the United States: 42 cases in passenger ships, 12 in those who came from China and two in their relatives, three cases in Americans who came infected from Wuhan.

At the Diamond Princess, moored in quarantine in Japan , according to the latest data, 705 people were infected.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization about an outbreak of unknown pneumonia in the city of Wuhan in the central part of the country (Hubei Province).

Experts have identified the causative agent of the disease – this is a new coronavirus. WHO recognized the outbreak as an emergency of international importance and gave the disease its official name – COVID-19.

The number of infected in mainland China has already exceeded 78 thousand people, 2715 have died, over 29 thousand have been cured.

Cases of infection outside the PRC are recorded, according to the latest WHO data, in 33 countries, the number of infected has reached 2,459 people, 34 people have died.
