US, WASHINGTON (NEWS OBSERVATORY) — Chinese scientists have recorded changes in the clinical symptoms of patients infected with coronavirus infection in different periods. According to the Social Science Research Network (SSRN), experts observed 89 patients in Wuhan and found that people with the virus later had less symptoms.
Patients were divided into two categories.
The first included patients in the first half of January. In the second – those who entered the clinic in the last decade of the month. It turned out that in the second group, the majority of patients consisted of women, in the first – only 42.2%. And this is not the only difference: for example, the first group showed temperature, loss of strength, muscle pain and a low level of lymphocytes.
In the second group, the symptoms were less pronounced or absent altogether. Combined both groups of cough, nausea, diarrhea and heaviness in the chest.
Scientists have concluded that a new type of coronavirus mutates and can mutate into a flu-like virus. In their opinion, various forms of the disease can manifest themselves in different ways, the virus can be in a secretive state for a long time in the body of carriers, not manifesting itself in the form of obvious symptoms.
Pneumonia caused by the coronavirus COVID-19 began to spread in China late last year. Now more than 100 thousand people are already infected all over the world, of which more than 72 thousand cases occur in China . Doctors could not save more than 3.5 thousand people.
At risk are the elderly and people with weakened immune systems against a background of chronic diseases. Less often, children and adolescents fall ill, between the ages of 0 and 19 years, only 1% of the total number of infected people is affected.
In Russia, as of March 7, 13 cases of infection were recorded. Among them are three foreigners in the country: two Chinese citizens and one Italian student.
The virus was found in three Russians evacuated from the Diamond Princess cruise ship and transported to Kazan. Six patients in Moscow and one in Nizhny Novgorod are also being treated.
