UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The outbreak of coronavirus began in Wuhan in December 2019. Already, the virus has killed 259 residents in China and infected more than 12,000 people worldwide, writes CNN.
What’s really going on?
High Speed Deployment: There are more than 140 confirmed cases outside of China, in 20 states or other territories extending to North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Some of these cases involve people who have not visited China but have been infected by contact with other persons.
Isolated China: About 60 million people are half or completely isolated in some cities of China to avoid the spread of coronavirus. Shops are closed, hospitals are overcrowded and roads are empty.
Limited travel: Many states are advising their travelers not to travel to China. Some governments and airlines have canceled flights to mainland China.
Global response: Various countries, including the United States, Great Britain, Japan and South Korea, have sent aircraft to evacuate their citizens from Wuhan. International scientists are ‘competing’ for the vaccine as authorities ‘fight’ to prevent the spread of the disease.
