The number of countries where a new virus has been fixed has exceeded 50.

UN Secretary General António Guterres called for “urgent action.” According to him, the situation is approaching a pandemic.

The World Health Organization is not in a hurry to declare a pandemic. Its CEO, Tedros Adan Gebreyesus, said the situation outside of China is a matter of concern, but “decisive early action can prevent the spread of the virus until it has gained strength.” He cited eight countries as an example, including Russia, where the coronavirus was previously detected, but no new cases have been recorded in the last two weeks.

The situation continues to negatively affect the economy. Decrease in trading on major Asian exchanges ended, key US indices collapsed by about 4.5%. Dow Jones lost almost 1,200 points, which was the most serious fall in its history, if you count in points.
