Coronavirus: Russia closes border with China

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Russia’s new incumbent, Mikhail Mishustin, signed an order today (January 30th) to close the eastern border with China.

This comes shortly after President Putin’s instructions yesterday on measures the country must take to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The Prime Minister also stated that the public will be constantly informed about the situation regarding the virus. So far there is no confirmed case in Russia.

The Russian foreign minister announced on Thursday that temporary visas for Chinese nationals have also been temporarily closed.

Russian citizens have also been banned from traveling to China.

The number of victims of coronavirus in China has risen to 170, and more than 7,000 people have been infected.
