UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Rover transmitted to Earth an impressive photo of the horizon of the red planet.
The photo was published by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration ( NASA ).”
Curiosity is located inside Gale Crater; the hill in the background is the edge of the crater.
The image was taken by the rover on November 1 using the right navigation camera B. In the second frame, Curiosity captured the surrounding ground.
Curiosity is currently climbing the pediment of a crater called Central Butte. Scientists believe that once there could be water – soil samples, which Curiosity will take soon, will help to find out for sure.
To date, Curiosity plows the expanses of Mars alone – at the beginning of the year, the Opportunity rover ( Opportunity – an opportunity) completed its mission, due to the inability to collect solar energy due to the abundance of dust storms.
Martian landscapes can be seen not only on Mars itself. See how amazing beauty nature has created in the Wadi Rum desert.
