Death toll from earthquake in East Azerbaijan province rises to 530

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The number of people injured in the devastating earthquake in East Azerbaijan province has risen to 530, our correspondent in Iran said, adding that 153 earthquakes have been recorded there in the past 24 hours.

An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale hit the Ruider region of Hormozgan province in southern Iran on Wednesday.

The largest earthquake hit the city with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale, which occurred at a depth of 16 km from the Earth’s surface.
