UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – The United States and France pursue nothing less than gaining control over the energy resources of this country with their policy towards Syria, says MEP Constantinos Papadakis, a member of the European Parliament.
“What the US imperialists and the so-called reformer (French President Emmanuel) Macron do, endlessly repeating the same argument we’ve heard in the case of Libya and Iraq, is aimed at controlling the energy resources for which they are fighting,” said deputy, speaking at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The United States, Britain and France on the morning of April 14 hit rocket attacks on Syrian government facilities, which they believe are used to produce chemical weapons. From 00.42 to 02.10 UTC they released over 100 missiles in Syria, most of which were shot down by Syrian air defense. The Russian forces were not involved, but they monitored all the launches.
Russian President Vladimir Putin described the attacks as an act of aggression against a sovereign state, despite the fact that neither Russian military experts nor local residents confirmed the fact of the chemical attack, which became the pretext for strikes.
