UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – In February and March of 2018, a study was conducted to determine the effect of nutrition in the treatment of cancer, involving 412 patients aged 12-76 years.
The results of the study, without regard to the type of cancer, that 70% of patients lost weight, because of problems directly related to the digestive system, and 57% of them lost appetite, and 45% of the change in the taste of food, while 37% suffered difficulty in Eating, knowing that these factors directly affect the effectiveness of treatment and the speed of healing.
“For example, an adult with cancer has to eat 1.5 grams of protein per kilogram of weight,” says professor Tatiana Simiglazova, a cancer specialist. “If you weigh 60 kilograms, He has to eat 90 grams of protein a day, which is equivalent to six chickens or 15 eggs, but most patients are unable to eat this amount of food, and thus weaken the body, which leads to a reduction in the effectiveness of treatment and sometimes cancel operations.
“One-third of cancer is caused by malnutrition,” said Professor Richard Dole, a cancer specialist. “The cancer patient needs a special diet that supplies the body with vitamins, minerals, amino acids and proteins.”
Professor Dole also confirms that some of the feeding systems suggested by alternative medicine in the treatment of cancer may play a negative role. For example, cancer can not be cured by hunger, or certain herbs are used in treatment, because malnutrition will lead to a severe deterioration in the patient’s health.
Doctors recommend eating fruits and vegetables, reducing fatty substances, abstaining from drinking alcohol, reducing the intake of sugar, red meat, and canned and semi-processed foods.
