Eight coronavirus deaths recorded in Iran

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The number of cases of coronavirus infection in Iran has reached 43. Eight patients have died.

These data were provided by the head of the department of public relations of the Ministry of Health Kiyanush Jahanpur, the agency “Club of Young Journalists” reports.

Earlier it was reported about 28 infected, six of whom died .

Information on the first cases of coronavirus infection in Iran appeared on February 19. Cases of infection have already been identified in the provinces of Qom, Markazi and Mazenderan.

Earlier, the country’s authorities decided to hold sports events in Tehran without spectators due to an outbreak of coronavirus.

The epidemic began in China at the end of December 2019. By February 23, it affected more than 78 thousand people around the world. The infection has already claimed the lives of more than 2,400 cases.

Over 23 thousand patients managed to recover. China has already launched the first cure for the disease.

The World Health Organization is alarmed by unclear cases of infection with a new type of coronavirus. We are talking about those patients who have not been to the PRC or have not been in contact with infected people. WHO Director-General Tedros Adan Gebreyesus also expressed concern about the spread of the disease outside of China. This, in his opinion, suggests that the opportunities to contain the epidemic are becoming less and less.
