But each of the presented hatchbacks has its own signs. For example, the color bar that connects the headlights has its own shade for each case: the GTI has red, the GTD has silver, and the hybrid version has traditionally blue.

In addition, the exhaust configuration is different. If the gasoline hatch received the pipes spaced along the edges of the bumper, then the diesel twin tips are located on the left, and the VW Golf GTE is generally hidden under the bumper.

In the interior of the new sports seats with a classic tartan finish and a different steering wheel appeared, and a “digital cockpit” was included in the standard package. Another novelty is the Vehicle Dynamics Manager chassis control system, which manages the settings for adaptive shock absorbers and electronic differential lock simulation. She has three preset modes – Comfort, Eco and Sport, but the driver can also make himself the fourth, individual.

As expected, the Golf GTI received the latest iteration of the EA888 two-liter gasoline engine, which develops 245 hp. and 370 Nm of torque. He will have to work either with a six-speed mechanics or with a seven-band robot. A diesel of the same volume loses in power – it has only 200 hp at its disposal, but it surpasses the gasoline engine in traction, as it can provide 400 Nm. And there’s only one box for him – a robotic one.

As for the hybrid Golf GTE, its power plant consists of a 1.4-liter turbo engine and electric motor, which together develop 242 hp. and 400 Nm.

They are implemented through a non-alternative six-speed DSG. A 13-kilowatt on-board battery will allow such a Golf to drive up to 60 km without ICE at a speed of up to 130 km / h.

Unfortunately, no other characteristics of hot hatch have been made public yet: obviously, the most interesting VW is reserved for the official premiere on March 3.
