EU: Coronavirus risk in Europe rises to high

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Monday that the European Union Agency for Disease Control and Prevention has raised the risk assessment of coronavirus infection in the block to a high level, since the outbreak has spread to most EU countries.

“The ECDC (European Center for Disease Prevention and Control) today announced that the level of risk to people in the European Union has risen from moderate to high. In other words, the virus continues to spread,” she said at a press conference in Brussels.
