GERMANY (OBSERVATORY) – Former German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said that the European Union does not know how to determine its interests in big politics.
According to the publication Schleswig-Holsteinische Zeitung, the former Foreign Minister of Germany advised Europe to learn how to define and defend its interests in the international arena by the example of the actions of Russia, the United States and China in the situation with the Syrian crisis.
He is sure that if the EU does not make efforts, then there is a risk that with it “will cease to be considered.”
” Those who lose power are not recognized not only by strong countries, but also powerless, ” Gabriel said in his speech at the University of Flensburg.
The diplomat urged students and current politicians to stop “naively” perceiving the processes taking place in Europe and around the world.
