Exit polls show Netanyahu wins in Israel vote

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The leader of the Likud party, acting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the results of the parliamentary elections on Monday a “huge victory” for the Jewish state and thanked supporters for their support.

“A huge victory for Israel,” Netanyahu wrote on Twitter. “Thank you,” he wrote to his supporters.

Netanyahu said the victory in his Likud party brought “faith in one’s own path.”

“We won thanks to our faith in our own path and thanks to the people of Israel,” he said. 

The first exit polls of Israeli television channels, published immediately after the polling stations closed at 11:00 p.m. local time on Monday for the third in 11 months parliamentary elections in the country, promise the victory of the Likud party.

In addition, according to forecasts of channels 11, 12 and 13 of Israeli TV, the block of right-wing and religious parties supporting Netanyahu can count on control of 60 out of 120 seats in parliament.

The formation of a stable coalition requires the support of 61 deputies, the Israeli state radio Kan notes . According to him, the preliminary results of the vote count will be published on Tuesday morning, and the final results in another week.
