SYRIA (OBSERVATORY) – The arrival of experts from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to the Duma can only be considered after obtaining permission from the UN Security Assistance Mission. This was stated by the Director General of the OPCW, Ahmet Uzun.
As noted in the statement, the UN team will continue to work on security issues with the Syrian authorities, local councils in the Duma and the Russian military police.
“At present, we do not know when a mission to find the facts of the use of chemical weapons can be deployed in the Duma. Of course, I will consider deploying only after receiving the approval of UN experts, “said Uzumju.
Earlier, Uzumju said that the UN security mission came under fire in the Syrian Duma.
