UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – The media reported an explosion at an oil refinery in the US state of Texas. On the spot there is a fire.
We are following breaking news from Texas City where an explosion and resulting fire were reported at a Valero refinery.
There has been an explosion at the Valero plant. As per Valero there is no need for a shelter plant. At the current time we have fire crews from the area and industry responding to the fire. No known casualties or injuries. Please continue to monitor.

21st Century buses are being held due to the current Shelter in Place due to a refinery fire. We will release them as soon as we get the all clear. We will update when we can.

The buses taking home the after schoolers from 21st Century are now rolling. There is no shelter in place in Texas City.

SkyEye13 showed the smoke is visible from miles away.
Texas City officials said local fire departments are heading to the refinery to help put out the fire.
Buses at 21st Century were being held due to the fire, but have since been allowed to get on the road, according to Texas City ISD.
The cause of the fire is not immediately known.
No injuries were reported, Texas City officials said.
