Explosions, rockets reported in Saudi Arabia capital

SAUDI ARABIA (OBSERVATORY) – Two explosions were heard in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Wednesday, Reuters reported.

Saudi Arabian air defense forces intercepted a missile in the sky of the capital Riyadh, Saudi forces said.

The Saudi channel “News” in a tweet on “Twitter” that the defense forces destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards Riyadh.

The official channel said the air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile fired by Ansar Allah towards Jazan.

A spokesman for the Saudi-led Arab coalition, Colonel Turki bin Saleh, said that the air defense forces shot down a drone that tried to target Abha airport, adding that another plane was destroyed trying to attack a civilian in Jazan, according to “news” Saudi Arabia.

The spokesman added that the Houthi aircraft carrying characteristics and specifications of Iran, warning the group targeting civilian objects and civilians.

The spokesman stressed that the use of Huthis methods of terrorism in the suicide attack will have deterrent firm, stressing that the coalition will take all deterrent measures in accordance with international law.

“The leaders of the Huthis and those behind them should consider the use of these capabilities against civilian objects and civilians and the consequences of their use as a matter for them to bear the consequences.”
