Fire at a hospital in Poland, 4 dead

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — In Poland today, a fire broke out in a hospital, killing four people and hospitalizing 21 others.

The four dead are patients at a hospital in Chojnice, a town in northern Poland, firefighter spokesman Marian Hinca said, local media reported.

One of the four victims was found dead when firefighters arrived and the other three lost their lives on the way to the hospital, he said.

Michał Sienkiewicz, a police official, said the fire was probably caused by a hospital worker’s cigarette.
