UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Chinese authorities have banned patients with fever or cough from traveling around the country on buses, trains, and airplanes. It has also been announced that criminal prosecution is being introduced for the spread of the new coronavirus COVID-19.

According to Deutsche Welle, they can be executed for intentionally concealing the symptoms of a new coronavirus or distorting information about the patient’s condition in China. Hiding the history of your travels can also be considered a criminal offense.

The person who became the source of the infection and led to the spread of the virus will be accused of creating a threat to public safety. He may be sentenced to 10 years in prison for life or to death.

On February 15, the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China prohibited residents with coughing, fever and other symptoms of a viral disease from traveling around the country in buses, trains and airplanes.

All citizens who return home after the holidays from the zone of the outbreak must stay at home for 14 days or under the supervision of doctors. Those who refuse quarantine will be punished.

The Second Middle-Level People’s Court of Beijing explains: The Chinese Penal Code provides severe penalties up to the death penalty for those who, during an outbreak of coronavirus, will be convicted of corruption, production and distribution of counterfeit medicines, maliciously infecting other people with coronavirus and causing serious harm to doctors.

There are a total of 21 possible crimes in connection with the outbreak of a new coronavirus , four of them can be sentenced to capital punishment.

This, in particular, applies to patients with confirmed coronavirus infection, as well as pathogen carriers who refuse quarantine and treatment or arbitrarily violate the quarantine regime, visit public places and vehicles.

For persons who have registered a case with suspected infection and as a result of which quarantine and treatment were rejected, the spread of the disease occurred, the maximum punishment is the death penalty.

The death penalty can also be a punishment for those who, during the period of the epidemic, inflict deliberate harm on medical personnel with grave consequences, damage the protective clothing of the physician or spit on it, as a result of which the doctor will become infected with the coronavirus.

Capital punishment also threatens officials who abuse their official position for embezzlement, embezzlement and misappropriation of money and material resources, which are intended, inter alia, to prevent and control infectious epidemics.

The same fate awaits the heads of enterprises for the production and marketing of fake or substandard drugs for the treatment and prevention of infections.
