PALESTINE (OBSERVATORY) – Four people were killed in clashes with the Israeli army on the border with the Gaza Strip on Friday, the number of wounded reached 645 people, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health of the enclave Ashraf al-Qedra told RIA.
Earlier, two dead and 83 wounded were reported.
“The number of victims of Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip has increased to four Palestinians, among them a minor youth, 645 people were injured,” said Ashraf al-Qedra.
He added that among the injured 124 wounded with military bullets, five of them are in serious condition.
Earlier, the press service of the Israeli army reported that about three thousand Palestinians take part in the riots and clashes with the Israeli army on the border with Gaza. Last week, the number of protesters reached 10 thousand.
Protests under the general title of the “Great March of Return,” which began in late March, the Palestinians intend to continue until mid-May. According to the latest information, more than 30 Palestinians were killed from the beginning of the clashes, about 3 thousand were injured, of which more than a thousand were wounded with live bullets.
Organizers expect to draw attention to one of the core aspects of the Middle East conflict – the fate of millions of Palestinians who were expelled from the territory of modern Israel and their descendants living in foreign lands in different years.
The Israeli military explains the use of firearms against the most active participants in the riots by the need to protect the state border. They reject allegations of excessive force and calls for an international investigation into the bloodshed.
