France: It is too early to lift sanctions against Russia over Ukraine

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Monday welcomed positive steps taken by Russia and Ukraine in recent weeks to ease their crisis, including a prisoner swap over the weekend, but said it was too early to lift sanctions against Moscow.

“It is not time yet to lift the sanctions,” Le Drian told a news conference. We are seeing new thinking compared to the last few years and we are happy with this.”
