France reports 785 new coronavirus cases and 18 new deaths

US, WASHINGTON (NEWS OBSERVATORY) — France reports 785 new cases and 18 new deaths, and now total confirmed cases reach 3,661 and 79 dead.

The number of patients with coronavirus in France increased by almost 800 people per day to 3661, French Health Minister Olivier Veran said Friday.

“Today we have 3,661 cases of illness, that is, almost 800 people more than yesterday. Currently, 79 people have died, 154 people are still in serious condition,” Veran said at a briefing.

According to the minister, 98% of patients with coronavirus are cured of it.

The day before, the number of people infected with the virus was 2876, and the number of deaths was 61.

Veran noted that “the spread of the virus in France is accelerating.”

The World Health Organization ( WHO ) on March 11 declared the outbreak of the new coronavirus COVID-19 a pandemic. More than 130 thousand people in more than 120 countries have already been infected in the world, most have recovered, but more than 5 thousand have died.
