France: Russia blocking the entry of chemical weapons inspectors in Duma

FRANCE (OBSERVATORY) –┬áRussia is blocking the entry of inspectors from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) into the site of the alleged attack on Syria’s Duma, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Derrion said on Friday.

The group’s experts arrived in Damascus early last week to examine an alleged attack site in Douma that killed dozens of people and led to US-led missile strikes.

“To date, the inspectors of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) have no authorization to enter the site of the gas attack in Douma,” the minister said in a written statement.

He added that this approach aims to ensure the disappearance of evidence of the attack, noting that the organization must be allowed to enter the site immediately, fully and without obstacles.
