UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) — France will closely follow the United States’ withdrawal from northern Syria and a possible Turkish offensive because they could bolster the Islamic State group, France’s defense minister said on Monday.
“We have to be very attentive because such a move that runs counter to the objectives of the coalition (anti-Islamic State) could strengthen the group rather than weaken it or eliminate it,” Minister Florence Barley told reporters in northern France.
