French banks accused of financing colonization

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – Several French banks are accused of financing colonization in occupied Palestine.

Referring to a report published by the International Federation of Human Rights Leagues (FIDH), the Turkish news agency Anadolu unveils links between French and Israeli banks and insurers for the development of settlements in Palestine busy.

Similarly, a study conducted by some French NGOs and unions including Association France Palestine Solidarity, CCFD, Fair Finance France, Solidarity, General Confederation of Labor and Al-Haq, reveals the existence of financial links between Israeli entities and French groups BNP Paribas, Société Générale, Crédit Agricole and its subsidiary LCL, BPCE and its subsidiary Natixis, and finally AXA.

The investigation adds that the aforementioned French companies manage financial holdings or hold shares, directly or indirectly, in banks or companies active in the field of colonization.

In addition, French banks and insurance companies are accused of contributing to the financing of business projects directly involved in colonization.

The international community deems illegitimate Israeli settlement activities, which have been going on for about fifty years.
