SYRIA (OBSERVATORY) – The Syrian authorities created all conditions for the normal work of the experts of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in the city of the Duma. This was stated by Russia’s permanent representative to the Geneva branch of the UN, Gennady Gatilov.
“To determine the truth, experts of the OPCW are currently in the field. They receive full support from the Syrian authorities and representatives of the Russian military police. All conditions for their normal work are created. First of all, from the point of view of ensuring their safety, ” said Gatilov.
He noted that representatives of WHO were sent to the Duma “to assess the objective situation in terms of health conditions in the area where chemical weapons were allegedly used.”
Earlier , the Ministry of Defense informed that experts of the OPCW are planning to arrive in the Syrian Duma on April 18.
On April 14, it became known that the experts of the OPCW had arrived in Damascus.
