Gaza Interior: An explosion yesterday near two Palestinian police points carried out by suicide bombers

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Two explosions near a police checkpoint in Gaza on Tuesday night were carried out by suicide bombers, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry said.

Al-Bazm said in a televised statement that the Ministry of Interior has identified the perpetrators and continues to investigate who is behind them, adding: “Those behind this cowardly act intersect with the objectives of the Israeli occupation to undermine the stability of the security situation in the Gaza Strip.”

He pointed out that there is significant progress in the investigation of the bombings, stressing: “We identified the perpetrators and continue to work on the file.”

The Interior Ministry spokesman said that “the ministry will announce all the details of the criminal event to the public once the investigation is completed.”

The Interior Ministry in Gaza announced the killing of two policemen, on Tuesday evening, and the fall of a number of wounded by two explosions near two security points in the Gaza Strip.

She explained that the first explosion occurred near a police checkpoint at the border junction south of Gaza City, killing two policemen.

Shortly afterwards, the Interior Ministry reported that a number of wounded were killed by a second explosion, which it said targeted a police checkpoint in Rashid al-Sahli Street in Sheikh Ajlin area in western Gaza.
