The leader of the illegitimate armed forces in eastern Libya, Khalifa Haftar, has said he wants to visit Russia to continue peace talks.
In a statement by the Kremlin’s Press Office, Haftar sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Thank you for the talks that took place in Moscow in terms of securing peace in Libya and we fully support this. We are ready to visit Russia in accepting your invitation to continue the process of negotiations begun,” the letter said. .
Haftar left the Russian capital earlier this week without signing an agreement prepared after ceasefire talks in Moscow under the supervision of Turkey and Russia.
