Haftar meets the UN envoy to Libya

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The media office of the General Command of the “Libyan National Army” confirmed that Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar met the UN envoy to the country, Ghassan Salameh, at the headquarters of Al-Tarajmeh.

Libya has been witnessing since last April, confrontations between the government of national reconciliation centered in the capital Tripoli, west of the country, and the national army led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, who is supported by parliament in the east, and who seeks to liberate the capital from what he describes as terrorist elements.
